                                                                   A Holotropic Breathwork Workshop

Supporting the synthesis of mind and body after experiencing an expanded state of consciousness

Our international workshop team has extensive experience in Psychedelic Medicine and Therapy, Holotropic Breathwork,  Mind/Body Medicine and  Integration

Menla Mountain House and Dewa Spa
       Phoenicia, NY

You are invited to join us for this highly experiential special topics Holotropic Breathwork workshop. We will explore and experience practices that support the integration of expanded states of consciousness. Domains of Integration include mind, body, spirit, nature and community.

In this workshop you will experience four Holotropic Breathwork sessions (two as a breather/two as a sitter). Our integration practices will include mindfulness, integrative writing/journaling, sound healing session, somatic awareness through mindful movement, earthing and grounding in nature, connection to self and spirit with meditation, self-care, connection to community with our evening fire ceremony, creative expression with a nature-based art activity, an introductory talk on Holotropic Breathwork, three nights lodging and nine vegan farm to table meals.

You will also have access to Menla's full service spa and outdoor pool, exercise room, historic barn/community center, meditation chapel, gift and book shop and hiking trails.

Holotropic Breathwork® is a powerful breathwork practice that allows for self-exploration
and healing. With the eyes closed and lying on a mat, each person uses their own breath and
the music in the room to enter an expanded state of consciousness. This state activates the natural

inner healing potential of the breather—or "inner healer"—which guides the experience. The therapeutic

benefits of Holotropic Breathwork can include releasing and healing trauma,
improving anxiety  and depression, higher insights of spiritual understanding, increased
connection to self and others, and opening to compassion and love.

The retreat is suitable for a wide range of issues including chronic medical issues,  chronic pain, relationship issues, professional or personal burnout, feeling stuck or trapped, loss of meaning and purpose, significant life transitions, grief and loss, depression and anxiety and support for those in recovery from addictions.

You are invited to join us for this special topics workshop on addictions.  The workshop is open to anyone who is in recovery from addiction or whose life has been touched by addiction. It is also open to anyone interested in experiencing  Holotropic Breathwork.

We will be talking about addictions from a Holotropic perspective based on the groundbreaking work of Stan and Christina Grof. This approach explores the perinatal, biographical and transpersonal influences that can contribute to addictive behaviors. In addition, we will explore the role of attachment, attunement and trauma in the development of addictions.

Stanislav Grof's perspective on addiction emphasizes:
Spiritual Crisis: Addiction can be a manifestation of a deeper spiritual or existential crisis.
Desire for Transcendence: Addicts have a strong, albeit often unrecognized, need for transcendence.
Transpersonal Exploration: Transpersonal therapy and practices like Holotropic Breathwork can help individuals access deeper levels of the psyche to explore and resolve underlying issues contributing to addiction.
Healing and Integration: Accessing non-ordinary states of con
sciousness can facilitate healing and integration of traumatic experiences, leading to a greater sense of wholeness and well-being.

The workshop includes 4 Holotropic Breathwork sessions (two as a breather/two as a sitter), sound bath, nature-based healing practices, sharing circles, mask making and an evening fire ceremony and healing practice.  Price includes workshop, three nights housing and 9 home cooked meals by our private chef.
